Travel and visa information

Planning to attend the conference from abroad?

Here's everything you need to know to ensure your travel documents and visa arrangements are in order.

Visa information for international attendees

If you're travelling from overseas, please ensure your passport is valid and that you meet all visa requirements.

Visa options

Participants, attendees and speakers who will not be working, performing or otherwise receiving payment for contributing to the event may be eligible for one of the following visa options:

Note: Eligibility for an eVisitor visa and Electronic Travel Authority visa depends on the applicant's country of passport.

Supporting your application

If you're applying for a Visitor visa (subclass 600) - Business visitor stream, include as much supporting information as possible. This may include:

  • evidence of international travel (such as copies of visas and passport pages with entry and exit stamps)

  • evidence of attendance at similar events to APSACC.

Note: Visa options and requirements may change. Refer to the Department of Home Affairs for the latest information.

Biometrics

If you're applying from outside Australia, you may need to provide biometrics. This applies if:

  • your visa is part of the Australian biometrics program, or

  • you're applying from or are a citizen of a country included in the program.

Learn more about the biometrics program.

Health and character requirements

Most visa applicants must meet health and character requirements before a visa can be granted.

Visa processing times

Visa applications are assessed individually and processing times vary depending on:

  • whether your application is complete and includes all required documents

  • how quickly you respond to requests for more information

  • the time needed to verify your documents

  • how long it takes to receive information from external agencies (e.g. health, character, security checks)

  • current global processing times.

Processing times are impacted each month by cases that are complex, changes to volume of applications and changes to Ministerial Directions. Check current visa processing times.

For these reasons, we would advise that you lodge your visa application at least 4 to 6 weeks before your intended travel date.
